Click Here For Dream Informative Program Video NAFEO and The Dream Company, LLC (“Dream”) joined forces to initiate, “Insuring the Dream,” a fundraising program to support the nation’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). “Insuring the Dream” is an innovative life insurance program that will provide supporters of HBCU’s and PBI’s with an opportunity to obtain superior coverage while raising revenue for the institution of their choice. The program offers an additional vehicle for these institutions to garner support from administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, family as well as to an extended circle of friends who have remained an under-tapped resource as potential major donors. “We are delighted to engage in this partnership that I believe will provide a mutually beneficial path to enhancing the financial well-being of our member institutions. It will provide supporters of HBCUs and PBIs a cost efficient, effortless way of leaving a legacy to institutions of their choosing,” said NAFEO President & CEO, Lezli Baskerville. “I encourage all HBCU and PBI administrators, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends of education, in general, to learn about this program and consider adding it to their planned giving and investment portfolio,” she added. The Dream Company’s President, M.L. Carr, the former legendary Boston Celtics player, said of the program, “As a college board member, I understand the ongoing financial needs of colleges and universities in this uncertain time. Through “Insuring the Dream,” current students, alumni and friends of Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Predominantly Black Institutions will finally receive the resources they require and the coverage that they need.” The collaboration with NAFEO, the nation’s only membership association of the public and private, two and four-year HBCUs and PBIs, allows The Dream Company to reach those who have an affinity for educational institutions, and provide them with the opportunity to designate an HBCU as the beneficiary of their policy, while giving them access to affordable and comprehensive insurance coverage. The partnership offers a new opportunity to give for those who may not have regularly designated funds for educational support, by allowing a portion of their insurance premium to benefit the school of their choice. The program will provide an alternative and unique fundraising program to HBCUs and PBIs that creates a large-scale and sustainable revenue source at no cost. Supporters will purchase high quality insurance that they need and will normally buy, with the added benefit of having the proceeds go to their HBCU or PBI of choice. This program benefits all parties involved and, most importantly, future leaders who are in need of financial resources to support their continuing education.
